Running Ads for lifestyle.photo for one day

I've made a lot of side projects over the years. I am a grown man now and have to admit that the reason that none of them found traction isn't because I got unlucky, it's because I never have legitimately made a product worth purchasing. lifestyle.photo is designed to fix this.

I often generate AI images using Gemini in AI Studio. This is inconvenient because it only generates one image at a time and I have to write the prompts myself. Very slow. If I am a Shopify / eBay / Etsy / Amazon merchant, I want to get a bunch of candidate AI images, take the best ones, and move on. This is what lifestyle.photo does.

lifestyle.photo today

After iterating on the website in afternoons for two weeks, I felt comfortable to run ads. It took me a few days to figure out how to get a non-zero amount of traffic but today I got around 100 website visitors.

My Funnel

146 clicks, 1.17k impressions, $0.47 CPC, $69.05 cost

12.53% CTR

110 page views, 25 visits to registration page

23% of people who land on my page post-click visit the registration page. This percentage is similar between Google and syndicated traffic.

5 people signed up for the platform. 20% of the people who landed on my registration page signed up.

2 people generated at least one image. 40% of the people who signed up for my app actually used it in a non-trivial way.

I spent $69 for two "users". A $35 cost per "conversion".

I am going to continue running these ads while I made improvements to the website.

Action Items

1) Add Google SSO to improve /auth/register --> "conversion" rate.
2) Provide a pre-filled image for end-users to try image generation for the first time to improve the successful sign-up --> "conversion" rate.
3) Add a gallery to the home page to reduce the bounce rate from 75%
